The fourth generation at Matsuzaka-Banko Shoko-Kiln. He studied under his father Horin. Nobuharu the first started the kiln during the Ansei era (1855-1860) in the lineage of his predecessor, Nunami Rozan. He worked in a wide range of styles including Ninsei, Kenzan, Gohon, Mishima, Iraho, Karatsu, Shigaraki, and Iga.
