Born in Iwase-cho, Nishiibaraki-gun. Trained at Fukuda Pottery and opened the kiln in 1975. His work has been selected for the New Traditional Craft Exhibition and others. Works mainly with amber glaze, zaffre glaze, and high-fired unglazed ceramics.
