Born in Nara Prefecture as the eldest son of the popular potter Tsujimura Shiro, he started pottery in earnest after graduating from high school.
In 2002, he built a semi-underground cellar kiln and developed Sanage-style works. He held a solo exhibition at Hankyu Umeda Main Department Store the following year.
