Born in Tajimi. Graduated from Tajimi Technical High School. In 1945, he entered the family’s Katsurayama kiln and succeeded as the fourth of his line. Received the City Chairman’s Award at the City Exhibition, among others. Selected for the Chunichi International Ceramics Exhibition, Asahi Ceramics Exhibition, Tokai Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Japan New Crafts Exhibition and others. Has held Akasaka G Gen and other solo exhibitions. Mainly focuses on tea utensils and tableware, usually Oribe, iron, gold and silver glazes.
