Born in Hagi. Began training under Miwa Kyusetsu (10th generation) at around the age of 15. Later invited to provide technical guidance during the opening of the Tenhosan kiln. Opened the Tamaryuzan kiln in Tamae, Hagi in 1968. Primarily focused on tea-ware.
