Born in Fukushima Prefecture. After dropping out of Bunka Gakuin, studied at a pottery factory in Kyoto, and completed the Kyoto Ceramic Training School in 1974. Became independent in 1977. He has been awarded prizes at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and others. Mainly works with color painting, inlay, and salt glaze.
