In 1979, he opened a pottery studio Saramumu Iimure-gama in Hioki-gun, Kagashima Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Kyushu Sangyo University. Studied under Otsuka Isamu of Kyoto Sumiyama and Kawashima Kozo of Sodeisha before setting up on his own. Winning prizes at the Kagoshima Ceramics Exhibition, the Minami Nippon Biennial, the Kyoto Craft Exhibition, the Seibu Craft Exhibition, and the Kyushu Yamaguchi Exhibition. He creates objects, crafts, decorations, and wall works based on the living environment.
