Born in Toyota-mura, Nagano prefecture. Graduated from Shinshu University. Began working with Shinonoi-ware in 1975 and built the Maruyama kiln. Established the Utabigama cooperative anagama hole kiln in 1981. Studied under Fujihara Shin and Suzuki Osamu at Kyoto City University in 1988. Selected for the New Traditional Crafts Exhibition, Asahi Ceramics Exhibition, Prefectural Exhibition, and Prefectural Crafts Exhibition. Exhibited at the Japan Ceramics Exhibition in New Zealand. Primarily focused on celadon, tenmoku, and Matsushiro-ware ceramics. Member of Shinshu Fine Arts Association.
