From Arita, Saga. Eldest son of the 1st generation Sofu. Trained under his father until around 1969. Established Tokazan in Hagi, Yamaguchi in 1973. Studied under Yoshika Taibi. Won the NBC Award and the Semi-Grand Prize at the Kyushu Yamaguchi Exhibition and exempt from appraisal at the exhibition. Won the Chugoku Association President’s Award at the Modern Craft Art Chugoku Exhibition. Won the Prefectural Superintendent of Education’s Award and Fine Work Award at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Exhibition. Won the Contemporary Craft Art Award at the Japan Contemporary Art and Crafts Exhibition and exempt from appraisal at the exhibition. Selected for the Nitten Exhibition and numerous other exhibitions. Works focus on Hakeme brush strokes and Zogan inlay work.
