Born as the 2nd son of the avant-garde potter Yagi Kazuo. Older brother was Yagi Akira.
Started holding private exhibitions at galleries in Tokyo and the Kansai region in the late 1970s while in university. Mainly presented sculptures and was attracting attention but passed away at the age of 27 due to leukemia in 1983.
