Born in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture. He was one of the best potters in the area for Banko-ware sencha utensils, and was especially known as an expert of making things by hand(as opposed to a potter’s wheel).
He moved his kiln to Toei-cho in 1951, and continued his style until his death at the age of 73, without ever belonging anywhere.
