From Kobe. Studied under Araki Takako. Trained at the Kyoto Industrial Research Institute. Graduated from Kyoto University of Arts with a major in ceramics. Traveled to Europe from 1978 to 1981. Studied at Spain’s national Madrid Pottery School while viewing kilns around Western Europe. Learned relief and sculpture from the sculptor Manuel Alvarez. Returned to Japan and set up a studio in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture. Has held solo exhibitions in Madrid, Tokyo, and Osaka. focuses on flower patterns, yakishime, colored patterns, iron and ash glaze, and colored glaze.
