Born as the 1st son of the 1st generation Ichino Shinsui. After graduating from Kyoto University of Art and Design, started training under his father in 1980. Produced works under his real name of Ichino Katsuaki.
Was selected for the first time for the Japan Craft Art Society Kinki Branch Exhibition in 1986 and the Japan Traditional Craft Art Exhibition in 1990 and was selected every year since. Appointed as an Official Member of the Japan Craft Art Society in 1993.
Also participated every year in the Tanabe Museum of Art Modern Tea Forms Exhibition since 1989 and the Horaikai Exhibitions superintended by (the late) Shimizu Uichi since 1990. Main awards include the Kobe Newspaper Grand Prize at the 1990 and 1993 Hyogo Prefectural Fine Art Exhibition. Became the 2nd generation Ichino Shinsui in 2002.
