Kato Shunbu is of the same lineage as Seto ware founder Kato Kagemasa, and was born into a family that passed down the name Kato Buemon from generation to generation. Kato himself inherited the title of Buemon VII.
His works include those in the Ki-Seto style and homages to Ofuke works.
