Primarily focused on Seto blue and white dyed ceramics. Son of the first generation Jihyoe. Made great contributions along with Kawamoto Hansuke to modern Seto porcelain dyeing. His eldest son was Inoue Ryosai (2nd generation) who was active as a pioneer in Meiji ceramics in Sumida, Tokyo.
